One Year
They told us to give it a year....maybe 2. So here we are.
I haven’t written for some time....it’s a little more difficult to share the challenges we are still facing. By all physical standards, Matt is back. His physical injuries have healed. He is able to contribute to the physical side of his job. However, he tires easily. The business side of Thein Moving has proven to be more challenging. Matt is learning new ways of tracking all the information he kept for estimating, routing, permitting, customer database, material lists, and project scheduling. Teaching an old dog new tricks is not easy. But memory challenges his ability to organize this information effectively and efficiently. He is grateful for the patience of the men he works with, especially Tim.
Memory deficits lead to other challenges difficult to disclose. Matt suffers from depression and anxiety. This is a direct result of his head injury and a side effect of coping with his challenges. Matt struggles through episodes of frustration and sadness. He desperately wants his life to return to pre-accident condition. He wants to feel the same happiness again. It just takes time. Hopefully the 2nd year brings continued improvement.
We will continue to look for the blessing, find positives in the challenges, and live the life we are given. We are still in awe of the grace and kindness we have received from many....one of the blessings we claim. What I am the most grateful for one year later is I get to see his smile, know his love, feel his touch, and share our life. I’m grateful for more time.

We would like to invite you to a celebration of Community Blessings on Friday, August 30th 7pm at our shed near our home 1400 193rd Ave NW as a way to thank everyone for their support. We will have Jeff James for entertainment and food.
