Hello World!!

I'm so sorry that I haven't been keeping up with this! The Taxol treatments were fine! It was kinda crazy at the end because there was a shortage of fluids, so I just had straight treatment. That took a lot out of me, but other than that everything went really well! I was able to keep up all the things, including getting back into Disc Golf! The first couple of weeks I was only able to do a few holes at a course but towards the end, I was up to a full round baby!! Whoot! I'm actually kinda getting good, in a bad form sort of way... But CHEMO IS DONE!!

Now we get to start Radiation, aka The Microwave, and that will be for 6 weeks. Everyone that I've talked to has said that if you've gone through Chemo the Microwave is a walk in the park. I currently have everything set up to go down in the mornings so that I can just drive down to work. It's rather nice that they were able to set it up that way. Oh Ok, so let me tell you how it works, cuz it's kinda cool!

I had a consultation today, and my Microwave Dr. is super adorable. Dr. Microwave was very nice and informative about what was going to happen. He said that it would take about 5 minutes for the actual Micowaving, and then the rest of the time is more paperwork and check-ups. He said that today, we would be doing set up for the first day. We did a CT scan to make sure that my positioning is correct for the Radiation machine, and I got 3 new tattoos! :)

For the CT Scan, they lay you down and you lay down on something that's like a bean bag mat of sorts. Now when you lay down they then line you up with a projected line that I guess represents the Microwave. Oh, you're on a table if you haven't gathered... After that, they mark you up to match all the lines. Then they apply the stickers! They are used to help outline the area of Micorwaving in a kinda 5x7 picture frame box. Remember that bean bag mat I talked about earlier, well they use that to make you your own personal perfect body mold. The body mold is used to position you, so they have you raise your arms over your head, and then they shove the beans in the mat in place so that it holds your position in place for the Microwave! You go to the exact same position every time! It's quite cool, they used vacuum suction to hold everything in place. After all that you go through the scanner, and if they like what they see, they give you stickers! Well, that's if you're a responsible adult who can keep the stickers on your body every day of the week... Which I am not... If you're not a responsible adult, you get TATTOOS! The stickers and the tattoos are used as markers for the previously made marks with the marker on where your butt is supposed to be on the table. And then after all this, your done and ready to be Microwaved!

So my first day of Radiation is going to be on 01/20/2022, in the AM. Then it's Monday - Friday for the next 6 weeks. My last day of Radiation is going to be 03/07/2022. Hopefully, this leg of the journey will be a breeze!

Well, that's it for now my lovelies!
Until next time!!
