Newest Update

Journal entry by Chantha Nhem

I want to say this, I will discontinue writing on this caringbridge site and moving over to Wordpress. I will be expanding my thoughts and writing to all sorts of topics to cover some life advice and stories between my mom and I along with my own perspective on things. If you are interested in reading that, please save website and follow...  lifeinterpreted.home.blog
And if you just want to get an update on mom please reach out to me on social media or my cell.

Final Caringbridge Entry:
Thank you so much for taking the time to check on mom’s updates and reading my 101 entries for the past few months. Xo

Mom was doing ok when I spoke to her earlier. She wanted to make sure I got the soup that her bestie, Linda made and sent for me. I was glad to get it because it’s one of my favourite soups. I’m spoiled. 😊 One of the many benefits of dad working across the street from me. Mom and I chit chatted about her asking Khan to get a new dryer this week and also we discussed Khom’s current situation where he is currently at the QWC hospital so that he can get back on his meds and get some support again. It is the reality of dealing with a mental health illness such as schizophrenia. It cannot be cured and so it is a perpetual cycle of ups and downs throughout one’s life. You think you have a handle on it and then in a split second it all comes tumbling down and then you have to pick up the pieces and rebuild again. It’s been a tough few days for my family with this recent episode. It makes it harder since mom used to be able to help him through it but now she is unable in the way she’s used to and so I know it hurts her. I reassure her that I have it under control and will help him so she doesn’t have to worry but you know it is in her nature to want to help him. He will be alright and will get back into the swing of things until the next relapse. I know she knows this but I always say as long as I am breathing, I will fight to get Khom help and support him always. It’s what I promised myself a long time ago to always be there for my family and friends no matter what.
