I was honored to sing with your beautiful Terri. She was soprano section leader at Gustavus and I admired her talent, her style and her strength. (I smile remembering her bringing her favorite pup into the practice rooms.) I also taught in Lakeville, although not in the same building(s) as Terri, but I knew of her talent as an educator. I've contacted LSHS for updates on contributing to the scholarship planned in Terri's honor.
I remember hearing Terri's stunning performance of Samuel Barber's "Sure On This Shining Night" during a Gustavus recital (lyrics based on a poem by James Agee)
Sure on this shining night
Of starmade shadows round,
Kindness must watch for me
This side the ground.
The late year lies down the north.
All is healed, all is health.
High summer holds the earth.
Hearts all whole.
Sure on this shining night
I weep for wonder
Wandering far alone
Of shadows on the stars.
Thank you for sharing Terri with us.

Thank you, John. You did so much to make her last months on earth vital, comfortable, and significant. Terri was an example to us all, keeping her sense humor and wit to the very end. Her bright light was strong, courageous, and uplifting. I will miss her.
Thank you, John. It was a joy to visit Terri, and to get to know you better throughout the hospice time. You did an amazing job caring for dear Terri. Yes, you are our friend, too.
