Oh, Phoebe, tears...... your father was a great power of example to those of us who,maybe, were not quite as courageous or daring or, even, we were, probably, inept. Always encourgaing and kind. As a life-long best friend of your Uncle Marty, our friendship started in The Cedars oh-so-many-years ago when we were little children, I saw your father only on occasion when I would come over to our beloved Mattapoisett from either Duxbury or from Beacon Hill, and your father was always so welcoming, with that sly grin and full confidence. He, definitely, was one of the great ones. Thank you for sharing so poignantly at the Memorial Service. He would have loved it. xoxo
