Sophie’s Story

Sophie is an extraordinary 10yr old girl who was born with an extremely rare congenital heart disease called Anomalous Aortic Origin of the Left Coronary Artery or AAOCA for short. Her heart condition was “accidentally” discovered while trying to treat her other 2 extremely rare conditions Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (SJIA) and Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH)  while we are believing God for a miracle and continue to believe He has a greater purpose behind all this we are convinced nothing accidentally happens. In fact Sophie’s CHD/AAOCA was discovered on TIME! A lot of people know they have this rare condition after a heart attack or after they deceased  but my baby girl is so special to the Lord we discovered this early in age. Many specialists say she wouldn’t have made it past 20 yrs but here we are at 10yrs old with so much more to explore and live and with a surgery date ahead of us. August 2nd is her surgery date and although this is a very complex surgery we know Jesus in control. We want to invite all friends and family to come together and support Sophie by using hashtag #teamsophieguitron. We are also making a go fund me page and will use this site to inform you of her conditions pre-op and post op. Thank you! Love Mom & Dad

Sophie was admitted back to the hospital and is experiencing a little setback as far as her recovery goes due to her other medical conditions. Unfortunately she is not feeling too well to have visitors at the moment but will let you know as soon as she is. Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support during these difficult times for the Guitrons. Love you all!
