Newest Update

Journal entry by Megan Smith

Update:Last night was rough. There were people in the room all throughout the night. His IV line that they were giving benadryl through wasn't working so they were trying to figure that out most of the night and then his breathing just kept getting worse so we went and got a chest x ray in the middle of the night. They said his chest looks worse. They think it's from the newer viral infection but since we've had problems with the line, they are concerned about a blood infection. They did rounds 30 minutes ago and just hearing all of the different doctors and residents opinion, I know this time is different than any other. There all VERY worried as am I. This time it's way worse. His breathing got dangerously high last night and when it's not real high, it's dangerously low. There sending in someone to do chest massages later to see if they can't break up some of the mucus and will be having him blow in this thing throughout the day. They talked about what if scenarios.  Like what if his heart rate keeps dropping or rising and what if the vomiting escalates or if he worsens and one of the residents through out, a possible fungal infection or sepsis. Not saying that either of those are the case here but it's some There concerned about which terrifies me. I think we will be much longer than 48 hours but that's okay. I just want them to get to the bottom of us and to see where we need to go from here. I'll let everyone know how he does throughout the day.

If some of this doesn't make since,  sorry I'm running on little sleep.
