Journal entry by Carolyn Lumb —
Hi Everyone,
This is Carolyn, Rachael's big sister. I'll be hopping on here from time to time to update everyone on Rachael's journey to wellness. Yup, I know this is a cancer battle but I'm airing on the side of absolute optimism based on the Rachael I know, I have every reason to think my logic is sound.
And so we begin! Rachael is home resting after her first chemo treatment. Other than two minor reactions to meds she says "things went off without a hitch" until she realized she had locked her keys in her car. Don to the rescue and disaster averted though. This week will likely be the week where Rachael feels "the best" due to all the pre-medications. She is hopeful she will feel good enough to work. And there you are, that's Rachael in a nutshell - still thinking about helping others despite all this madness. I'll be back here to update as needed. Please keep thinking of Rachael and being kind to others, just as Rachael would be.
Putting lots of light and love out into the universe. Hope you all catch a ray.
Carolyn
