Nancy’s Story

Site created on January 8, 2019

Calling all members of Team Nonnie!

After what was thought to be a seemingly bad piece of sausage pizza on Dec 16, Nancy went to the hospital in severe pain on Dec 23 only to learn the following day that there was something suspicious on her pancreas. To our shock, last Thursday, our sweet mama was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

The path forward continues to evolve with each appointment, procedure and test result. For now, she’s receiving care from the best Oncologist at Region’s in St. Paul (only the best for Nonnie!). We have an appointment with the best Surgical Oncologist at Mayo on Jan 10 and will continue to share as we learn more.

Nancy has the absolute best attitude about this in the face of a supremely crappy disease. She continues to reflect on climbing up and out of the Grand Canyon and likens this to that...just a steeper, more arduous climb.

Please reach out with your love, light, prayers. Bring laughs, meals, company to her and all of us as we go forward, one step at a time.

Nancy has led a life of service to others, fiercely advocating for those who could not advocate for themselves. It’s an honor, as her daughter, to have the opportunity to show up in service to her.

Proud to be part of Team Nonnie!
