Journal entry by Jim Morse

Happy New Year Everyone!!!!  A monumental day for Dad yesterday.  Dad is no longer at White Oak Nursing and Rehabilitation center.  He has moved back to Greentree Assisted Living Center and is living with Mom again.

Dad has made huge strides the past 2 months.  He is eating much better, he can walk without a walker now, and is much more alert and stable than he was.  He was even getting the other residents food trays at the cafeteria in White Oak prior to being discharged.  He had quickly become a favorite patient and many were happy to see him be discharged.

A heartfelt thanks to the entire staff @ White Oak for an excellent job with Dad’s re-habilitation.  And also to Greentree for helping Mom the last 5+ months with all she had to deal with and helping her adjust to a new lifestyle.  The Greentree staff really helped Mom get ready for Dad to come back.  Getting meds lined up, shopping for a few extra things Dad would need and many other things also.

We would like to thank everyone for all  the support and prayers the past 5+ months.  It’s helped a bunch.  The job is not done getting Dad back to the new normal, one step at a time, one day at a time.  Hoping for daily improvements, no matter how small they are.  Keep the prayers coming as Dad and Mom begin a new chapter in their 54 year marriage.  (#54 is coming up on 2-1-20.). #TeamDave-Dave Strong
