TC’s Story

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.
Tom has suffered with Pulmonary Fibrosis since spring of 2014.  After a hospitalization for an infection last spring, Tom's condition worsened. Oxygen became a daily part of life and life activities were drastically cut down. After careful consideration he decided to go for the only cure available - a lung transplant. He went on "the list" in October and here we are after 3 months.

Along with the great encouragement you send us, we would like to say that if you are so inclined to, a donation can be made to an organization run by our lung transplant support group and the University of Minnesota.  It's called Hope Chest News. Their email address is hopechestnews.org
Donations help families with housing costs (some from out state MN have to rent to be close for transplant) or help defraying the huge cost of rejection medications. Our wonderful support group has  become another layer of family we love and depend  on.

We are even more overwhelmed by the response of everyone since Tom's passing. Our most sincere gratitude to all who were able to attend his funeral last Friday. And, how very uplifting all your cards, calls, emails and contributions are. God knows how much our family needed to feel wrapped in your love. Thank you all for your prayers and kind thoughts. You have warmed our hearts and soothed our souls.
