Journal entry by Taylor Schweinebraten —
To update on my current relapse treatment, I had surgery in July (2021) to remove the smaller soft tissue Ewings tumor that was still localized to my right hip. Surgery was successful as they were about to get clear margins. It was then decided to complete 25 days of IMRT radiation to my entire right hip. This would include getting radiation to my old tumor bed, and the new tumor bed. As I starting radiation, relapse chemotherapy also begun. This time it consists of three chemotherapies including Vincristine, Irinotecan, and temodar (VIT). Each chemotherapy cycle is 5 days long and is given through IV. As of now I have completed radiation, and am finishing up my 3rd cycle of chemotherapy. My nexts scans are on November 17th. We are hoping for there to be no evidence of disease through out my whole body and for radiation skin burns to heal. As well as the chemotherapy to be showing promising results as in its working to kill every cancer cell.
