Newest Update

Journal entry by Kirsten Lenhart

Hello all! It has been a while since we posted on Tammy’s journey but we figured it was time to give an update. Today Tammy is down at the Mayo receiving 2 different types of chemotherapy medications to hit this cancer at a more aggressive approach since its starting to be aggressive with her. Her Fight isn’t over but we are asking for prayers. She experienced some back and leg pain and went to a local hospital in the middle of March while she was there she had a CT scan and a MRI that was sent down to her doctors at the Mayo Clinic. The Mayo called her the next day and told her that it is important for her to make it down there that day. Tammy, Kathy, Mike, Missy, Timmy, Ethan, Rocky and Snowball all headed down to the Mayo clinic for an overnight trip filled with appointments and a few family friendly games of cribbage.

After talking with the doctor this is what we found out, all spots are worse compared to a few weeks ago including the spots in her brain. All spots on her spine are all new, they couldn’t tell us exactly how many spots but it’s more of an area as a whole. Because she has been on so many chemo’s the chance of any chemo actually working is 10%. Worst case scenario a few months depending on how fast the growth is. They said if the chemo does work it would only add a few months to her life. The doctor also said they aren’t to the point that they won’t try anything on her if she still wants to but at some point they won’t treat her because it will be that they are hurting her more than helping her. But she also said if they keep trying a lot of different chemotherapy’s they could be making her pass away faster. She is did radiation on her spine and they still have the option to do localized radiation in her brain if spots continue to grow.

Please continue to send Prayers and positive thoughts to all of the family as we continue stand by Tammy in her FIGHT.
