Newest Update

Journal entry by Magdalen Bailey

Hi! Mark had a conference call with Tammys team of doctors so we are finally able to give an informative update on her astounding recovery!

Dr Sam said that she's doing very well he's happy with her they're going to slowly up her apraxia medication to see if that'll get her to hopefully speak a little bit more I asked him if there were alternative medication to give her if this doesn't work and he said yes but they're going to see how this goes first.

Then Jenna, one of her therapists, mentioned that they went back to the parallel bars this week and her and the other therapists are only assisting her at 25% or less. So when they first were doing that they were at 50%, so she's gaining strength on that left side as well. So when they wheel her to the bars she can take a right arm and put it on the bar but she needs assistance moving her left arm onto the bar but then she can pick herself up they've had her laying on her stomach resting on her elbows like a plank and she's been able to do that for a good amount of time her endurance is improving and her neck strength is as well.

There is still some weakness in the left leg, which is the be expected, but she is getting a little bit stronger in her left arm She can wash her face and bathe herself for the most part and she's now able to brush her teeth on her own That was a problem a few weeks back too where she didn't seem to grasp what to do with that. And Vicky said as far as working with her she's working the iPad a lot faster and now she's starting to use apostrophes when she is texting which is a good thing. So she's made some pretty good progress in a little over a week.

All in all, she’s the sweet woman we’ve come to know and love. When Mark visits, her sense of humor shows with them messing around and her calling him a cry baby 😂. We experienced some phone issues for the past couple weeks, so if you text her, just include who you are since her contacts weren’t fully restored and it just displays numbers.
