Newest Update

Journal entry by Jerry Castellini

Tammara came home last night around 6:30PM!  We were able to transition her from the rehab hospital and to the house.   It was quite a bit of moving, excitement, anxiety and a lot of other things for sure.   She experienced a pretty painful night from all of the activity but I think she was much more at peace with things being at home and in the comfort of family.

We have to say a very special thank you to Aleisha and Christina from Vibra.   They were the wound care nurse and the physical therapist.  Tammara loves both of them so much.  They are both extremely good at what they do and very compassionate and caring for their patients.  We are not going to miss the hospital experience but we will miss these two young ladies and the way they cared for Tammara.   Thank you both very much!

She didn't get a lot of sleep last night and we had a small incident this morning but all of that will ease up soon with her getting familiar with being back at the house.  Her anxiety was really high this morning but has calmed down a lot as of this afternoon at 3:30PM.  She is going to have a long road of healing ahead still but can do it with family to support her and actually have someone hold her hand and talk directly to her.  That alone will provide healing she can't get outside the house.

This will be the last update I provide to everyone as I have asked Tammara if she will provide all future updates.  I think she can express herself and her prayer needs better directly than I can for her now that she can communicate.  Not sure how often she will try but I know she loves every one of you and greatly appreciates your prayers and support.  They are so important and appreciated and we ask they continue for this next step of the journey for her.

I am so grateful that she is alive and home.  42 days was short compared to the original projection of the doctors saying she would not make it and then it would be 4-5 months in a hospital.  Thank you Lord Jesus for your healing power and your faithfulness to your children!
