Journal entry by Susan Rivers

The year 2022 has been filled with many journeys.  I am blessed with Family and Friends who have been supporting me.  I cherish each one of you.

This past year I have had a couple of MRI’s and CT’s and yesterday I had a CTA (a special CT for arteries and veins) as a follow up from the last regular CT.  The radiologist saw an area of concern in my right lung that was somewhat “hidden” behind a nodule and he wanted to rule out an aneurism.  Yikes!  Today, I read the results on MyChart and all was negative.  I truly felt it was a shadow but it is better to be safe since I had to have the lower third lobe removed November 1, 2021.  I will have a teleconference next week with Dr. Sidhu’s office to go over the results and plan our next move.  I think I am now back on track for my cancer protocol.  I try to keep myself healthy and strong.  I go to the gym for weight classes and Zumba.  I have not been to Airport Road Park as often as I should, but intend to get back on track.  Of course that may be a spring event!  As I write this, the temperature is 19 degrees!  I have been blessed with good health other than that "cancer thing" that I do have.  A Stage 4 Cancer is always there, somewhere.

It has been hard walking this road without Richard, I miss him deeply.  This entire year has been hard since January 21.  My Family has been with me every step and will be with me onward.  Tomorrow we will all be together for Christmas Eve and will hold each other close, missing our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He so enjoyed our Family gatherings, camera ever at the ready, to catch beautiful memories.  I find it hard to realize January 21, 2023 will be a year that Richard left us for his Heavenly Home.

I wish you all a Blessed and Merry Christmas.  Hold your loved ones close, be sure to make more special memories with them.  I appreciate the prayers of support from you all.
