Susan ’s Story

Site created on November 7, 2021

Welcome to Susan Fawkes’ site. She’s having brain surgery because it’s actually a tumor. Non-cancerous but still a problem, so it has to go. We’re at UCSD because they specialize in acoustic neuromas!

Happy Thanksgiving!🦃

Susan walked 2 miles in the Visalia Turkey Trot today! Dad and I were her spotters. It was a bright, crisp morning and Mom noted it was “a bit dizzy out.” 😂

We all had a great walk, Mom practiced some of her eye exercises to work on her balance, and now we’re back home to watch football and cook.

Mom is doing well, but is still dizzy and has headaches. But that’s normal and is a bit better each day. She starts physical therapy in a couple weeks so has to keep up with her walking and balance exercises in the meantime!

We’re thankful for the great health providers she had at UCSD, the results she’s had so far, and that we get to be home to enjoy Thanksgiving. We hope you all have a wonderful day with your favorite people!
