Suzie Q, Heaven became more joyful when you entered!
You taught everyone around you that life is a Blessing, not to be taken for granted.
Our visit last March with JH and Bob will always be my favorite memory of you and Baxter.
I am a better person for having known your abundant joy and free spirit.
My love to your family, your stories of their day to day lives make me realize that Mama Bear loved her cubs more than life itself. ❤️💕

Dear Baxter, Jenny, and Chip-
As I read through these comments, I celebrate Susan and her impact on ALL those her knew her. The smile, laughter and joy that she radiated. Those memories from my childhood visits with y'all in Jackson, TN are so vivid, with her laughing and smiling. Cindy Fleming Cawthon was just telling me about how Susan would call my Mom to check in on her at the hospital, and she would be cracking up from Susan's jokes! And don't you just KNOW there was a huge party awaiting Susan in Heaven! So many more angels to look over us in this temporal life.
Please know that Cindy Fleming Cawthon and Mike Harless also send you their love and prayers.
May God's peace and memories provide comfort at this time. Holding you all close. Love, Anne Fleming Smith

Jen, thanks for sharing your aching heart
and sadness over the loss of your Mother
and Best Friend! She was so proud of you
and loved you more than you will ever
know! To love makes loss so much harder
and your Mom was the ultimate example of
Love! It is difficult to imagine life without
her as she was such an awesome woman!
Hopefully, with time, your special memories
will lead you from mourning to JOY! Those
memories will live in your heart forever!
Lean into the Lord for comfort and peace
during the difficult days ahead! Sending Lots of LOVE and HUGS to you, Chip & your DAD! Betty & Henry

Baxter,
I am so sorry for your loss and for the all whose lives Susan has touched with her effervescence, I feel that her energy and light will live on forever in this world.
May you find peace somehow knowing she touched so many people ( You both have) in such a beautiful way it’s impossible not to smile thru my tears.
My thoughts are with you and all who have known and loved Susan.

Drenched in sadness. Her smell, her polished toes, her smile - her little girl essence in a Granny’s body. She is my biggest supporter - always cheering me on. I’m devastated that I won’t be able to call her - tell her my fears, celebrate with her, hug her hello at the airport. My life lost many of its layers today. Sad will be harder to climb out of - and happy will be so much harder to reach.

Thank you all. Love you and we are lucky to have you in our lives.....will be stronger some other day. Not today ❤️

OMG Baxter, I am sooooo very sorry. I am both saddened and shocked that so called modern medicine could fall so inadequate. This is when I wished I had a better command of our language, but I also realize there's nothing I can say that could lighten the pain , but I hope you know that you can count on my support in however I can help. I thought Susan was such an incredibly rare gift that her love, smile and laughter were infectious and forever be etched in my mind that I will treasure. My love and sympathies to Jen and Chip. This is so devastating to all of us, but made especially more difficult in times like this unable to reach out or be with you all to lend a shoulder nor support. My apologies, my sympathy, my love and my prayers to you all.

My deepest sympathy to all of you. Your wife/mother was the ray of sunshine on a cloudy day, a rainbow through the clouds. When I was around your family (in the 1970s) she was my idea of an ideal mother. Susan made it look so easy the way she would effortlessly glide around the kitchen as she would give me babysitting instructions and tips always beautifully dressed with a bow in her hair and a smile that lit up her eyes and everything around her. I wish we had been able to stay in touch over the years (other than through my Aunt Chloe) but I have cherished these last couple years on Facebook with her, Baxter and Jen. I am sorry for your loss. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
