This song has so much meaning to me.
I came to NC to show my family I am doing better than I was and they can take me off their “worry list” because “I know that God exists. I’ve held her in my arms.” The “her” referenced is me - the part of me that needed loved and God showed me He exists and has been teaching to love her/myself/everyone.
That doesn’t mean I never get upset. It doesn’t mean I don’t have scars. It simply means I love my family so much that I continue to show up so they don’t have to worry where I am or if I am ok.
I love the end of the video when the dad asks the girl, “what does daddy fix” and she replies, “everything.” I know my Dad has done so much to try and fix things for me. But I also know if he spends all his time fixing me he can’t enjoy the rest of our family. My dad is a precious gift that keeps on giving. I pray that everyone gives back to him in great ways to thank him for who he is to us all. I follow his lead and put my life in the hands of our Lord and rejoice for the opportunities ahead.
