I am feeling unwell in commenting on this page. Mostly because I just never wanted to hear that my classmates would die --- especially before me. I knew Susan Goodnow from my time at Shorewood High School. We were both seniors. We had one class together. I don't know which one, but I thought she was pretty perfect! Beautiful blonde hair, cute upturned nose, and wonderful in her cheer outfit.
I am so saddened to hear of her death. I will always remember her as a woman in motion.
Much love to her family.

I married into the Goodnow/Begel clan. Smart move on my part. Susan was petite, but she loomed large in all of our lives. I've never met a kinder, more centered person. She taught our son Sam how to walk and he christened her with the nickname Deedee, which stuck. To think she is no longer with us is less difficult because I'm surrounded by the great family she created. She left with the same natural grace she always had — what an exceptional example of how to be.

John and I are so sorry for all of you. Susan, although we did not see her often was so much a part of growing up in Milwaukee. She always was smiling and memories of the Begels and Steinmillers tenting it before the Circus parade is a great memory. And going back even further to her days as John’s soccer manager. She will be greatly missed….love to all…..John/Susan Scripp

I love the photo. It is such a pretty view with and without snow and the cardinal.
