Journal entry by Sunny Andrews

Sunny Andrews is a physician (MD), entrepreneur, and IFBB Wellness Pro. Her career as a doctor and bodybuilder is based on dedication and sacrifice. She just qualified for the 2022 Olympia and was one of only ten Pro Wellness athletes selected to compete in the Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio.
Background History and Education
Her true name is Sonia Andreou, but she goes by Sunny Andrews and can be found on Instagram as @drsunnnyandrews. She is a Greek American who was born in Ontario, Canada and migrated to Michigan when she was 15 years old. As a kid, she excelled in soccer and track, among other sports. She was selected by the US Olympic Development soccer team in her teens and also participated in sports in college.

Initially, she intended to pursue a career in fashion and become a designer. She attended Michigan State University and majored in anthropology and fashion design, with a focus on bioethics. Her enthusiasm for health, wellbeing, and helping others was exposed during a short stint working at an orthopedic office. She subsequently went on to get a master's degree in Biomedical Science from Oakland University, putting her on the path to a career in medicine.

She enrolled at St. Maarten, a Caribbean medical school, after passing the MCAT. Her first bodybuilding experience occurred when she was on vacation in St. Maarten. She discovered that the bodybuilding lifestyle helped her schoolwork and improved her mental health. During that period, she grew from a frail 95 pounds to a muscular 115 pounds. Bodybuilding helped her feel healthier and more energetic.

She started research at the Mayo Clinic and the University of Florida after graduating from medical school in 2019 summa cum laude, researching genetics and radiology. She started as a surgical resident in 2020.

Professional Capabilities and Experience

She then completed clinical rotations in London (England), Michigan, Washington, DC, Virginia, California, Georgia, and Florida. She began a fitness and nutrition consulting company while working rotations, producing exercises and food programs for customers. Clients were able to see remarkable effects, which increased its appeal. The Sunny Andrews diet helped some people lose more than 100 pounds.

This sparked a desire to assist individuals in repairing their connection with food and learning to appreciate their bodies. She applied her medical knowledge of the body to her grasp of bodybuilding tactics, resulting in a genuinely strong approach for wellness development.

This motivated her to establish On Szn Fitness, a company in which she assists individuals in improving their physical strength and health. She utilizes her knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical background to help individuals accomplish extraordinary changes via her coaching company.

Sunny Andrews also works as a writer for sports publications, owing to her extensive grasp of health, personal experience, educational background, and success with clients.

Achievements

Sunny Andrews received her medical degree from an American-accredited medical school in St. Maarten. In 2018, she won her first competition and was named a WBFF Pro. She won her first Wellness bodybuilding competition in 2020 and qualified for Nationals. Despite completing a 24-hour shift in trauma surgery the day before and commuting two hours to compete, she won her division at Nationals.

Sunny Andrews thinks that hard effort is rewarded. She completed the Ventura marathon in four hours despite only having a 12-hour notice. Her stamina and physical condition are outstanding.

In 2021, she competed at the Pro level seven more times. She finished sixth in the Olympia and was the only girl from the continental US in the top ten.

Her medical school experience explains a lot of her hard work and dedication. Working hard to become a doctor gave her the attitude she needed to succeed as a bodybuilder. She also learnt how to motivate others and assist them in achieving their own objectives without losing up on herself.

Personal Affections and Hobbies

Sunny Andrews raises her own veggies and fishes for herself. She likes developing nutritious and unique meals to supplement her healthy lifestyle. She spends a lot of time outside, whether it's fishing, gardening, or kayaking. She also enjoys high-energy hobbies such as skiing and wakeboarding.

She is a multi-talented lady who likes drawing as well. She seeks for things that will either benefit her wellness journey or her emotional health. After putting in so much effort, one way she avoids burnout is to engage in stress-relieving activities.

Philanthropy and Volunteering

Sunny Andrews is committed to giving back to her community. She volunteered at various Michigan hospitals, including William Beaumont and Sparrow Hospital. During her tenure in St. Maarten, she also performed a lot of charity work at a children's orphanage.

She lives a life of service in addition to volunteering and supporting her favorite organizations. She aspires to be the greatest at all she does and to assist others on their own journeys. She channels her kind spirit into her On Szn Fitness company, really caring for each and every customer who walks through her virtual doors.
