Summer’s Story

Site created on January 16, 2021

Summer has 22q11.2 deletion syndrome, also known as DiGeorge Syndrome. This is the cause of a major heart defect that will require surgery within the first week of her life. There is a wide spectrum of other challenges that she may be up against, many of which we won’t know until she is a little bit older.
We will continue to post updates on Summer’s health and the progress she is making and appreciate all of the love and support from you all.

Journal entry by Kimmy Hale

We got the okay to go home today!!! Summer is just barely making her feeding goals, but we are confident we can continue the progress in the comfort of our own home. Discharge is a long process but hopefully we will be posting a family photo this evening!
