We are HOME!!

We were pleasantly surprised when they told us we get to go home today. We were getting mixed signals between different doctors but are grateful Sullivan had another great night with no oxygen and tolerated his feeds so we were cleared to leave are 9am and are now home!

We cannot thank each and every one of you enough for your thoughts, prayers and support in more ways than one through the last 10 months. We are still in awe that Sully finally had his repair and he acts like nothing happened. He is one strong boy and we cannot wait to watch him grow up and start to experience life outside our house.

We will continue to see our cardiologist for a few more weeks until Sullivan is formally cleared post op in 8 weeks. He will then see them every year for ultrasounds to check on his heart. We are hoping this repair will get him 10 years when he’d need his pulmonary conduit and/or VSD patch upsized for his adult growth… but that is a ways out and right now we just want to finally enjoy our time with him with a lot less cords and stress. His care team has a program now to try to get him eating more by mouth so we can hopefully get rid of the gtube in the next couple of months which would be wonderful and the last device he wouldn’t have to be hooked to.

Thank you all again for being with us on this journey and we hope we can all celebrate Sullivan together one day soon. 💙
