Susan’s Story

Site created on March 25, 2022

I've created this journal on the CaringBridge website for 2 reasons:
1 - in order to keep family and friends updated on what's going on with my health.
2 - to share information that may someday help someone else who has Pancreatic Cancer.

I appreciate all the calls and texts I receive from so many of you, but it's difficult to keep up and respond to everyone.  Plus, sometimes I just don't feel like talking. My hope is that when that is how I feel, you will know I love and care about you, but I have to take care of me right now.

A friend of mine who's been through Breast Cancer said, "My name is not Cancer."  I don’t want my name to be cancer either. My name is Sue.

At some point I may ask a friend or two to update here when I'm not able to.

I appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement more then you know!

Journal entry by Lisa McKenna

Hello family and friends of our beloved Sue,

This is Lisa, again, writing to let you know that a private gathering was held yesterday to honor Sue. There will not be a formal memorial or burial service. Gwen, and her family, has asked that we each find our own way to honor Sue.  She was a great role model for how to live our best lives, with her kindness, compassion, empathy, friendship, laughter and sincere love. Her legacy will live on through all of us.

Donations may be made to Imerman Angels at imermanangels.org. Sue received support from this organization during her cancer journey.

Many blessings to you all.
