No sense being reminded of this procedure every time you hear Sia sing "Titanium."

So glad the procedure went as well as possible and you are surrounded by loving good humored people. Yes I do mean they would run out and get you ice cream if you wanted. Good Humor.
As far as the titanium vs plastic.... hmmm? Wouldn't the plastic be lighter? Yes, lighter is better. You wouldn't want to be weighed down
Much love to you Steven and your fantastic support crew.

It seems you will not be singing with us on Sunday. However, we, the St. Cecilia Society for the Preservation and Restoration of Gregorian Chant, Peking Opera and Other Endangered Things of Beauty, will somehow make it through the morning without you. We will sing before our friends with all our might, especially for you dear friend Steven. Soon, you will be back with us in full voice. Sitting next to you, you are my anchor. Thanks. Hey, when is the housewarming party going to happen? No rush. Take care, Love, Frank, Waldemar and the rest

Steve,

Very glad to hear the first step in your procedure appears to have gone well. My best to you for your immediate recovery and especially good wishes for all subsequent actions needed for a completely successful treatment plan.

As for dour plastic instead of swanky titanium, you can relax knowing you received the fashionable choice for everyone to see. Rest assured, there will be no murmurings at cocktail parties along the lines of, “Oh, gawd! Can you believe Steven has one of those ‘titanium’ vertebrae. Couldn’t he just get a sports car or something and be done with it?” Instead, everyone will be saying, “I’ve got to say, Steve totally rocks that new plastic vertebrae. He looks awesome with it!”
(nerdy humor mode “off”)

Take care, and recover well.

3) Dustin Hoffman was advised to get that over titanium when he got advice in “the graduate”. What, that’s not what the man meant when he said “Plastics”?
