Journal entry by Melanie Ahr

Today with CT in hand we went to see the neurosurgeon in Cincinnati.....he thinks the infection is gone, the vertebrae T7-T8 are fusing together, and there is little change in the angle of the kyphosis! He wants to do another CT in 3-4 months & see Steve to make sure the fusion continues. Steve’s pain is now 0-1/10 with pain free periods...with pain wrapping around to ribs on both sides of the body, but relieved when he sits down & rests. He continues to do strength training at the gym 3 days/wk and aerobic exercise daily. My belief is due to Steve’s diligence with exercise & all of your prayers he thankfully is avoiding a very extensive surgery.”Watchful waiting” has worked so far. Thank you for continuing on the journey with Steve.........

As we drove home on this beautiful sunny day we felt so incredibly thankful! We send our thoughts & prayers to you & your families-struggling with a new baby learning to nurse, dealing with depression , dealing with addictions, recovering from hip surgery, dealing with pain possibly needing another surgery, dealing with treatment for cancer, living knowing there are no further treatments for your heart ailment, etc.We also send prayers for those without food or shelter who need love & basic human needs....may we all find ways to help those less fortunate than ourselves.

We send our love and thanksgiving for your continued support & prayers.
