Thank you so much to the Steven Foote family for the lovely live streaming for Steve’s funeral service. It was lovely and I was so grateful to be able to watch it. He was an amazing and generous man and I’m so glad that he was a part of my journey when my husband Bob Petterson and I lived in New York. I was working for Goldman Sachs when Steve asked me to come by his office to talk with him about a position he had open at Ingalls & Snyder. I wasn’t even looking for a job. We talked for 2 hours and he looked at me and said, “I’d like to offer you a job.” I told him I wasn’t looking for one, but convinced me in the next 3 days through the Holy Spirit that He indeed was dropping this position into my life. I I gave notice and started 2 weeks later. I have never regretted that decision.
He was the most generous man with whom I’ve ever worked, not only with his money, but his time and his outlook on life. Always wanting others to know about Jesus. He was indeed Big Steve and bigger than life. Our office and some of our staff were there during 9/11. We walked to his home in Chelsea for about 2-1/2 hrs and Lynne had catered food for about 15 of us who showed up at her home that day. I’m so grateful that God put him In my life. My husband was out of town, and it was my birthday. Steve invited me to their home for a lovely dinner and “birthday party.” I’ll never forget how special that made me feel. God is Good, He is Sovereign, He is Faithful, His Promises are True, His Love is Everlasting, He is an Amazing God, Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace, Lover of My Soul! What a wonderful promise we have that we again shall see each other for Eternity. I know that your family will really miss him. May God continue to bless you, Lynne and your beautiful family.
