Ah, so glad you are up there, Steve! Sounds like not what the doctor ordered, but what your body intuited. Keep listening! Love,

Thanks Stevie New Pipe on the Northshore. Good to see you last evening on Zoom...And any chance you can add some photos of the waves and local healing views of trees and other denizens of the healing North Shore among the Anishinabeg Oyate? Many healing blessings Wicozani

Steve,
Hoping your breath, blood and systems function and flow as beautifully as your poetry here.
I could hear your voice narrating the text as I read it - mesmerizing and serene (painful parts notwithstanding).
Glad to hear you are cognizant of and heeding the instructions of your healers and your body, following your own internal earthquake / volcano / hurricane episode.
Also cheering your newfound and much-needed sleep. Yay for restoration, root word being 'rest'. Ration your rest; restoration.
Speaking of which, have all you can get.
I only know of one other person who had a similar experience, and I'll close here on his terms:
My uncle Jim, my mom's younger brother, had quadruple bypass surgery in his 60's, came through with flying colors.
In chats afterward, he'd often say to me, in his deep southern drawl from east Tennessee, "Kenny, any day above dirt is a good day".
Be well, my friend.

Wow, Steve, I had no idea. I wish you peace with no pain, and the prayers keep coming to you. I'm so glad you're with Jeannie on the north shore, letting the waves lull you to sleep. Wishing you ease (and no coughing or sneezing - ouch). Blessings, Debra

May you heal on the shores of Gitchigamiwininwag in the land of the Anishinaabe (Ojibwe). And I say to the Great Mystery who has given a third life Miigwetch! Western medicine has its place and breath is essential!

Love the description of your leisurely convalescence at your sister's haven, sounds to me like a little slice of heaven. So happy for you that you are able to sleep deeply, appreciate and bask in nature's majesty, profit from the healing magic of resisting the compulsion to work and finally listening to your body. You are now obliged to do the truly difficult work of doing nothing. Absolutely nothing, except surrendering to the beauty of the present moment which fortunately for you includes Lake Superior's waves massaging the ancient basalt. with oh so gentle hugs my friend,

Esteban, aka Stevie New Pipes. Nature and family up on the Big Lake are what seems to be healing for you, for anyone. Getting out of the fast lane helps too. Take the time to heal, even if a part of you gives a little push to get back to work. Good to know you are taking care of yourself and around those who love you.

Steve! I loved reading your post, getting the update on how you are, and I am so happy you are up on Lake Superior! We spent several days up there end of August, and I felt so good while I was there. May you continue to enjoy the beautiful forces of nature
