Updates on Steve Biggerstaff’s health — Thank you for helping support our family through prayer and presence and for passing the news along.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Emma Biggerstaff

No news is good news, as they say. (So yes, we're all still alive, in case the lapse in updates had anyone concerned). Today marks five weeks since the event, three weeks since discharge from the hospital, and two weeks since returning home!

Steve continues to progress and has regained significant strength and stamina. Yesterday, he returned to the hospital for his last official follow-up appointment for six months, a check-in with the EP (Electrophysiologist) who performed his ICD surgery. All clear. Semi-regular visits from a PT have confirmed that his body is in good shape. He is moving around completely independently, and apart from daily walks and normal activities, his most targeted therapy will be focused on regaining balance. Oh, and he will be meeting with a cardiologist of sorts who will also work with him to develop a nutrition plan for a heart-healthy diet.

We are very grateful to have had continued support in friends and family. The meals and accompanying visits have been helpful and comforting. Steve has seen some of you at church and others at work (on the days he has come in for meetings), so you can attest to his spirits and energy. Though he cannot drive for another five months (doctor's orders), he is mobile, definitely capable of outings, and we believe he'll be returning to all his normal routines in the near future.

Thank you for continuing to check in and reach out! We are grateful.

(I'll get some photos from family and friends to upload soon for context!)
