Stephen’s Story

Site created on December 3, 2019

As many of you are aware, over Thanksgiving weekend Stephen suffered a tragic accident and was forced to amputate the lower part of one of his legs. Some good news, he has been through 2 successful surgeries and he has already begun working with physical and occupational therapists. He is working on learning how to adjust and modify his daily activities and life in general. His strength, compassion, character and great sense of humor are all the things that draw people to him. He has been so incredibly strong through this, and has been doing his best to stay that way. Right now he could use your support.  Please feel free to express your support and words of encouragement as he begins his process of rehabilitation.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Wallace Kyle

Hello All! Here is the latest update on Stephen:

He is currently at Burke Rehab in White Plains, NY working incredibly hard with PT and OT to get ready to come home.  As of now they are planning to release him sometime early to mid-week next week.  He will go to his parent’s home in Manhasset and travel back to Burke for outpatient therapy.  Burke will be working with him over the next month or two in preparation and ultimately for the use of his prosthetic.  He is strong and doing very well.  Please feel free to post your messages to him on this site.
