Brian - I am so sorry for your loss. Stephen had the unique combination of being both whip smart (and competitive in business), but yet balanced by incredible gratitude, generosity, and pure love for not only what He did, but those around Him. Please let us know if there are any ways we can both honor his journey and fight, as well as to make a difference for others who are similarly affected. We haven’t been in close contact, but whenever there was a reunion, Stephen was one of my old pals I looked forward to seeing the most. Brian, my heart is so heavy for you right now. Stephen was an incredible human being and we are all better people for knowing him. Even in the midst of his fight, he found the time to come over our house and give support to Bennett who was about to start his own cancer journey. His optimistic outlook on life is something we will never forget!
Brian, our hearts are with you, Ellie, Hayden, and your families. I will always cherish Stephen's great sense of humor and his ability to see the bright side of every situation. For example, we laughed together hysterically about his post-chemo spray-on hair (Stephen always needed to look good!). I'll remember his smile, and his amazing ability to pull people together.
