It’s an incredible feeling when you realize the miracle you were waiting for, was happening around you all along. This coming together, this celebration of life, this magical, exhausting, lovely, grueling period has forged a clan that will forever hold Stephen, Kelsey and Georgia at its center. 

Stephen received the greatest gift of all today. He met God. He rested peacefully knowing that going Home is his greatest accomplishment. And true to form, Stephen left this world with one final gift through tissue donation. Even in death, Stephen is changing the world. 

Thank you again for your love and support. We couldn’t have done this without you. 

We’d like to leave you with a poem that has given many of us great solace. We would like to dedicate it to the finest man many of us will ever be fortunate enough to know, our dear Capt Stephen Robert Grace.

High Flight 

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth, 
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; 
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth 
Of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things 
You have not dreamed of — Wheeled and soared and 
swung 
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there 
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung 
My eager craft through footless halls of air ... 
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue 
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace 
Where never lark or even eagle flew —
And, while with silent lifting mind I’ve trod 
The high untrespassed sanctity of space, 
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
