Journal entry by Stephanie Schreffler —
Happy New Year! I am 10 weeks post transplant and plugging along. I am so thankful to have been given the gift of ringing in a new year even if I was in bed at 8:30 lol. Things are going fairly well. My blood counts are almost all normal so the transplant is working. Thank you to my Angel donor and the Good Lord above!! Side effects keep coming at me but they are all tolerable, maybe annoying but much better than the alternative. I do have to say that I am so sick of being bald. Once in a lifetime was too much for me but this 2nd time is well....it just blows! I was getting some of my energy and stamina back but this week was a bit of a set back for me. Headache all week I can't get rid of and some more skin issues popping up. And then there is the utter exhaustion. I swear my legs and arms feel like they weigh 1,000 pounds each. Enough complaining. I am excited to see what this new year brings. Wishing you all health and happiness!
