Newest Update

Journal entry by Connie Richardson

Just a quick update on Stan’s progress as some of you had asked.
We continue to be amazed at the leaps of improvement we see almost daily. He is totally off oxygen now!  This is a testament of Gods hand when we hear stories of covid survivors needing it for weeks or months later. We have been able to decrease some of his meds he was taking from conditions he inherited from being on the vent.
Physically, the large muscle groups, are much stronger, the ability to walk longer has increased as his lung function has improved and he rebuilds those muscles. We have ditched the walker and just using a cane for support.  He’s adding more weights in his PT for the upper body, using the shoulders and arms remains one of the hardest tasks he does.
Since his PT does not work on the smaller muscle groups in his hands we are doing this at home. Typing is still a struggle so he is doing finger exercises and will start on puzzles and picking up small objects to strengthen those fingers.
Stan is doing amazingly well and we are so grateful for his progress. There are times I have fretted, Stan’s word for me, on how soon his healing will be completed.
Isaiah 46:10 says I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times what is still to come, I say, my purpose will stand and I do all that I please.
So I rest in knowing God knows the whole story, the timeline of your total restored health. I don’t need to know next weeks potential steps because God has this! He has from day 1.
I can’t leave you without offering my thanks for everyone’s support. I know many of you gifted tributes on caring bridge so we could update along the way, we are grateful.
And one more thought if you will indulge me.
Mark 2:4,5 tells the story of some friends who did not give up on finding a way to lower their paralyzed friend to Jesus for healing. I’ve had many talk about my faith, or my families faith that brought about Stan’s healing. But, I believe God saw the faith of our friends, you, that never gave up. It was you, our friends and families who hoped the best miracle for Stan, it was your prayers that carried Stan to Jesus. You never gave up calling his name before God!
Praise be to God, we love you.
