We said our final good-byes to dad yesterday.  It has been an emotional roller coaster for the family these past 4+ weeks, but we take great comfort in knowing that our father is painfree and at peace in his final resting place.  I would like to thank everyone that stopped at the funeral home and church to pay their respects and offer condolences and comfort to our family.  People came from near and far and there was a never ending procession of people that showed to visit dad one last time; it was a huge testament to how many lives that he touched in one way or another.  Everyone had a story to tell about dad, many we had heard before, but so many we didn't know about.  My mother is a strong woman, which is no surprise given her marriage of 61 years to my father.  As we all had our emotional moments these past few weeks she was still the rock of the family.  I was fortunate to be able to be there with her most of these last 4 weeks to help her as best I could. As we all know now we have to start finding a new normalcy in our lives and move forward as I know my father would have wanted.  So just a final thank you to EVERYONE that called, left a message, sent a card, visited and helped out this past month. We may not have been able to thank you individually, but collectively please accept our eternal gratitude for your thoughts, prayers, deeds and words of encouragement and condolences. The love our family was shown was incredible and overwhelming. Thank you...God bless each an everyone of you.
