David, I hope you and your family can feel all the love that is flowing your way and the appreciation for all that Stephen was. I know no one who lives their values as well as Stephen lived his. He was an example and an inspiration to us all. As I think of him, I hear his beautiful singing voice, and his great laugh. I remember sitting in many AVP meetings with him when he was calm and light and wise. I remember his silliness, including dressing in a Teletubbies costume at Halloween. His expressive hands and his beautiful Michelangelo feet. I do not like to think of a world without Stephen, but I know it is a better world because of him and all the loving work that he did.
It is beautiful that you shared his last moments. Thank you for sharing this final journey with all of us.

Thank you, David. Stephen's passing came up this morning in our Quaker Center online worship sharing. Many tears were shed and such appreciation for his gracious and generous life. I did not know him well but I am very thankful to have known him at all. It's clear that he touched many lives.

My second post here. It is so common to comment on how many people's lives anyone who dies has touched. I am struck by the extra truth in this for Stephen, in large part due to the number of organizations he made major commitments to. Other friends of his reminded me of his 'witness for peace' participation and leadership in Iraq in front of the SF Federal Building. My second thought, I don't if this is a proper Quaker way to say this, but 'compliments' to Stephen's parent Judy and Bill and his siblings for showing Stephen so well the Quaker method of 'letting his life speak.' Loudly if that is not too un-Quakerly. Love to each of us, Charlie
