on behalf of stephen, i want to pass his invitation to you to help him celebrate his birthday. he really wants all the different people he knows to connect with each other through him and then to see all of you on zoom. here it is:

Hey All,

I'll be celebrating my birthday Saturday, May 9th, and Sunday, May 10th online at zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/5414898210 in 2 parts-- you can sign up on this link to find a general timeslot or just click onto the zoom meeting!:

Part 1: Sat & Sunday, May 9th-10 from 5-7 PM PDT, both days, come online and get to know a friend of a friend for 5-10 minutes. Tell stories, ask each other questions, and engage. There may be a waiting room in case it gets too busy, but please stay there and you will be let in!

Part 2: Sat & Sunday, May 9th-10th from 7-9 PM PDT, both days, come online for small group personal greetings to catch up, tell me about who you met, and say hi. Again, There may be a waiting room in case it gets too busy, but please stay there and you will be let in!

If you would like to know how my treatment is going or how I’m feeling you can read up on www.caringbridge.org/visit/smatchett/journal, this way you’ll know exactly what’s going on and I can reduce the re-explaining.

Peace,

Stephen

It's a challenging day for me. Multiple Sclerosis doesn't blend with 90 degree day. So it seems like a good time to stop whining. Do you recall this Shirley Temple singing, "Be Optimistic, don't ya be a mourner, brighten up that corner, smile

Hi Stephen ! Demece and I were just talking about you over dinner ( and chocolate chip cookies) and sending healthy thoughts and good wishes your way. We think that between chemo, radiation, and therapy you are simply exhausted. Sending so much love and looking forward to seeing you at Meeting and more importantly at your sixty three fingers birthday party on Sunday afternoon! Rest well for your party!! xo

Stephen, I keep praying for you! and love your updates! I so recall all the protocol of the treatments I've had for the past 1.5 years.. the fill me up with benadryI doze off while they put in the port, saline and then the chemicals--for 4 hours I lay there pretty out of it while Anthony works away on his computer. I 'm so beat by the time this is over, I go home and sleep for 2-3 more hours. By evening I"m going pretty well. I thank God for the good treatment I had for that as of last Friday i have the great news that I don't need to do any more treatments. I'm done!! I pray the same for you, that these chemicals do their job and that very soon you will be back to teaching us how to do awesome Bible studies. You are my Bible Study hero!!

Hey Stephen: just sending love. I am imagining that the new treatment regime, chemo plus radiation, is playing hell with your body while it is doing its job to address the tumor. Sorry that it likely so awful. Persist.
