Very frustrating dealing with technology and all the covid-19 complications on top of it. Hang in there my friend. Recibe un abrazo fuerte y solidario

Sorry you're having connectivity problems which seem to have their roots in human (willful?) ignorance. But glad your three therapists will be there to help you maneuver the road ahead.

Stephen, Lee chooses well when he calls you "Valiant." I see that the word comes from the Latin, valere, which means both "to be strong" and "to have worth." Both are so true of you. I admire your ability both to see the big picture and your determination to enter the fray, demanding the right kind of attention for someone in your condition. I devoutly hope that by you recognizing why the Sutter health system is pushing telemedicine at this time and by you insisting that the system accommodate needs that cannot be met by telemedicine, you and your colonoscopy physician will reach a suitable way to communicate.

My old K-12 school, Friends Seminary in New York, held a meeting for worship on Zoom two days ago. I was not inspired to join. Is this catching on among Friends?

Valiant Stephen,

I admire your persistence in demanding the compassionate support that you need from from medical personnel. Self-advocacy in this situation is obviously quite difficult. Yet somehow you keep finding new reserves of energy and determination. I call that heroic self-care! And I wish your path forward were not so strenuous.

I am sending love and Light your way.

Lee

So sorry to hear of the frustration of trying to get things to work as they’re supposed to. I hope it all gets straightened out today and you have to reflect and feel some peace.

Oh Stephen. You are my model of patience with technology from when we worked on our ancient computers with Dropbox and “Excel” and QEWR; now technology is biting you. But you will prevail. And in the awful time ( your enormous health challenges plus society’s COVID), I am driven back into silence. Not Quaker silence or the silence of my contemplative prayer, but the big silence of the universe. Somewhere, hidden deep within it all is God’s unknowable but all prevailing forgiveness and love. This is our invincible but invisible shield. And, it is the non-technological communication wave that connects all of us who love you to you, yourself, in your skilled nursing bed.

Stephen, So sorry you are having so many problems with technology, etc (which I also have). Wish there were ways we could be helpful. You really need and deserve a person who can figure out all the details/appointments, etc for you. Can someone at Sutter do that for you? or someone on the outside?
I saw a quote on the Caring Bridge site which speaks to allof us: Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass... Itss aabout learning to dance in the rain."
Sending love and healing energy to you!

Oh God, technology is certainly taking a front seat in all of our lives right now, and while often I am grateful for it (sometimes I spell that greatful), right now I'm with you, man. How do we get Spirit back in control? You are held and loved. Make us your North Star.

I'm sorry that you have to get acclimated to new OT / PT / ST therapists along with the new room and the cancer treatments. I'm glad that you are being persistent and wish that the technology were more "cooperative" (anthropomorphizing here -- I wish the help desk people were more cooperative; or, better, that you didn't need them!). E-hugs and prayers to you!
