When I read thy latest, I just wanted to sling a bunch of expletives out here. Not very Quakerly, I know.. Not very lady-like either. But gosh darn and gee whiz, Stephen, thee has had more than thy share.

Dearest Stephen, None of us consider supporting you a "job". It is a gift to us that you let us give back some of the love you have shown to so many over the years. It is a blessing to be in your life and to add any measure of comfort to you as you face, endure and pass through this deep valley. It is also a gift to us that we can look to your example of strength, willingness to ask for the support you want and need, and abiding faith and humor through this challenge. We are here, holding you, always.

This next stage of the journey - treatment - seems scary as well as offering the possibility of more time to be alive. Hope you did receive your check in the mail from the Meeting for your interest and penalties for your refused taxes for war. I pray the great love you have shared with so many of God's children over these many years may come back to you and help you in healing!!!
