Stephen--nature's message is change, even for the Rockman. So let them knock it back before you get out and go dancing. Having an intelligent and observant patient is a benefit to all medicine, as you can signal them what's working and how well. Among all the other needs--like love and attentiveness--now it seems you need some luck as well. The luck of the draw, and of the chances in a limited deck of cards. So my wish for you today, besides love, is luck to match your persistence. Hang in there, and if you have to take the stairs sitting down and backwards, so be it!

My dear Stephen, I read this entry just before bed last night and had no words then. Hard to find the words now either. So I will just say how incredible it is to be witnessing the angels that surround you, seeing names on this site I haven't seen in a very long time and it's wonderful to feel the love surrounding you - indeed all of us.

Courage and faith for the new temporary normal.... aggressive treatment. Bring the radiology department 🍬 and 💐!? And your sense of humor, of course.

This saga is starting to sound like one of those shaggy dog stories, with alternating sentences that begin with "fortunately" or "unfortunately." Except this story is not humorous. I'm sorry to learn that the tumor has been unexpectedly "active," and perhaps more aggressive than you thought. Staying there for immediate treatment makes sense. I guess you are fortunate that they made this discovery before you went home. What a disappointment. And what a difficult journey!

Hello Stephen,

Go get that darn tumor. Been following along on the entries but also just snowed under by the challenges right now of keeping school afloat. But I agree with you that treating the tumor sooner than later sounds like the right strategy. Remember you actually know more about your condition and what you need and want to do than any of the doctors or scans. You get to and you must be an empowered person in moving your treatment forward. And sounds like that's happening, so so silver lining. Just home from a three hour zoom school board meeting. Exhausted and thinking of you and praying for you. Love, John
