Sheryl’s Story

Site created on December 7, 2018

Sheryl's journey started on Thursday, November 29th when she received news of an abnormal result from her mammogram.  From biopsy results we learned that Sheryl has Invasive Ductal Carcinoma.  After scans the following day, we learned that the cancer was not just in her breasts, but in her lymph nodes.  (two lesions were also found on her liver which could be cancer or hemangiomas), which categorizes her in Stage 3 (if not in the liver), or Stage 4 (if it's in the liver) Invasive Ductal Carcinoma.

Since the moment we have found out, we have circled the wagons as a family to love, pray and support Sheryl and Matt and their children and we know that all who love them are doing the same.

As we all process this news, we are so very mindful to give thanks in the midst of it all.  We thank God for our amazing family, we thank God for our amazing friends (most of which feel like family), we thank God for all who come to Him in prayer and supplication for Sheryl and us, and we thank God for His faithfulness and goodness even on our hardest days.

"We have a strong city; he sets up salvation as walls and bulwarks.

Open the gates, that the righteous nation that keeps faith may enter in.

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts you.

Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock."

Isaiah 26:1-4
