Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Most of you probably know her history of breast cancer. She beat it once in 1998. Last spring 2019 she was diagnosed with stage 3 in the opposite breast. Different type of breast cancer, so this is not a recurrence of the previous, but a new case.
In maybe February we were told that it was in remission. However, May 18, 2020 we were told that it had reappeared and is now stage 4 with 3 spots in her liver and 3 on her spine. They have done radiation treatment to her spine, and have been treating the rest with endocrine treatment and chemo. Last Friday, 7/17/20, her platelets were low, so they took her off the Ibrance chemo, and told her to come back today for lab testing. When she did, her platelets had dropped even more, to 4000. So they send her to the hospital for a transfusion, which is where we are now.
So, that's her basic history to this point. We will provide future updates here whenever possible.
Thanks to everyone, for your support and concern!
