Newest Update

Journal entry by Dinah Seisman

Hi all - Happy New Year (although a sober and lonely one)

Shelly asked me to post an update to let you know all about her recent doctor visit.  Shelly had a bone marrow biopsy on Dec. 29th.  She talked to her doctor today and her bone marrow looks "beautiful" -- so Shelly is officially in remission.

Let me say that again - OR MAYBE SHOUT IT.... SHELLY IS IN REMISSION!!!  Figured we could all use some good news about now.

What's next?  She will start a maintenance plan with her next appointment (at the Kauffman Center - Upper Chesapeake).  Her maintenance plan will consist of a variety of pills, and a velcade shot every other week.  She will also need to get her vaccines AND redo all her baby vaccines as well - OUCH.  That said, Shelly is in really great spirits!

Now for a little bad news - Shelly has been having some headaches and woke up this morning with some tummy issues - seems as careful as she was, she has covid.  Obviously, she is monitoring her symptoms, which have not been too bad so far.  If they get worse, she may need to see her doc.  Let's pray that doesn't happen.

Shelly also asked me to thank all of you for your continued support, especially her mom Linda, Leanna and Martin.
