Shelli’s Story

Site created on March 1, 2022

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. On March 1st 2022 Shelli left the house with her two loving companions. Allie and Roscoe. They made it to the end of the driveway and when the light indicated that she could cross she made two steps with the dogs into the intersection and was struck by a semi. Allie died immediately and Shelli was critically injured. she is currently in surgery at HCMC with multiple fractures (leg, pelvis, skull and facial). They are currently working on a abdomial injury and we have been told it may be another hour or two. Her husband Dan and I (SIL Barb) are setting up this page to keep everyone updated. Please keep Shelli and Dan in your prayers. We will update as we know more.

Journal entry by Barb Kelley

Tonight we will walk Shelli to the operating room.  It is a walk that no family should have to take.  We know she is at peace and this final gift is continuing on with the love and caring she provided during her life.  We know she will give heart valves, lungs and liver to people waiting for a gift like this.  Her kidneys are in the process of being matched but I was told it could be a day or two before they find a recipient.

Thank you for your prayers. They have been appreciated.  Once we know more I will post on this Caringbridge.

Remember to say I love you and hug those you care about.   #shellistrong
