Steve and I appreciate you keeping us informed of Shelby's progress. No one can ever really appreciate nor understand altogether a situation until they find themselves in it. Your written words have continued to help your friends and family understand all the more, the daily challenges that Shelby as the patient, and you as the caretaker, experience. The strength that you two have together and individually, is beyond words. Though there is no doubt both of you have experienced your good and bad moments, neither of you clearly let those brief periods get in the way of the bigger picture. Clearly Shelby's amazing progress has confirmed that all the hard work and energy is paying off. Though it is also clear there is still hurdles to overcome on Shelby's road to recovery, there is no doubt in my mind, that you two are a formidable team, and if anyone can achieve this, you both can. i’ve been following this journey silently (please forgive me) crying, celebrating, and all things in between. better late than never to let you know I have been holding, and will continue to hold you all in my heart, thoughts, prayers, and all that. Shelby, you’ve always been one of those people who when I see, I light up inside. I can’t quite imagine all you’ve been through physically, emotionally, etc. I’ve tried to go there in my mind, to put myself in your shoes, but of course that’s pretty impossible. please know, that on a very deep level I’ve been with you, and will always be part of the community that loves you so. i am a huge Shelby Powell fan. and in reading all Charlie’s posts, have of course grown to be a huge Charlie Powell fan as well 😊 The dedication, love and concern have been palpable. Keep on keepin’ on, friends.
