Shawn’s Story

Site created on January 8, 2020

On the morning of January 5th our dear Shawn suffered a hemorrhagic stroke, his was taken to the hospital via ambulance and then airlifted to Tristar Centennial Hospital here in Nashville, TN. The neurosurgeon drained the blood from his brain and performed a craniotomy to relieve the pressure.  Now we wait, recovery will be a marathon not a sprint. We just want to thank everyone for their love and support. Please continue to pray for Shawn, his family and friends as we navigate this tough road ahead.

Ten days without him. Ten days since my lips pressed to him and ten days of wishing for a dream, a sign, something to tell me....he is alright. I know in my heart that he is watching over us but....all i want to be is close to him. I know I smothered him with kisses and annoyed him with public displays of affection and show tunes....but...I just wanted to see him smile and be close to him.

This was the song....the one I would sing to him when he couldn't get away...in the car, in the shower, in the bed, whilst I pinned him down on the couch....so....I share.....because we should all want to be close to the ones we love and I suggest you start smorhering all those you love...with hugs, kisses and affection.

Sprinkle love and spread joy as if you were putting down seeds....they do grow....they do...we witnessed this first hand with all the prayers and selfless acts of love and assistance during our darkest days and continue to feel it.

Repeating from a prior post...

Please make your Dr appointments, encourage your loved ones and even strangers to do the same....then stick to those check ups and continue to follow medical advise so that you can be there. Share your experiences and hash them of FB with #shawnsmiles Help us raise awareness on how unmanaged BP and Sugar can have you here one moment and gone the next. You are loved and you are needed...so please take care of yourselves and eachother.

We are broken but we have a mission and grief will not deter us from it as we honor his memory. Please join us in making sure this message gets shared and #shawnsmiles on FB. His story can and will save lives.
