Shawna is a young mom with 3 children recently diagnosed with stage 4 matastised lymphoma.  She started treatment at Standford Hospital and her care is now transferred to UC San Francisco.  Shawna starts he aggressive treatment on Friday 11/2 for 7-days, inpatient, and back every 21-days with a day of prophylactic treatment in between.  Each day Shawna amazes me!  Her determination to beat this monster trying to rob her of life, her strength, perseverance, and the ability to pick herself back up and march forward like a soldier on the frontline.  Everyday she has an episode when she feels she is unable to breath that of which is caused by the tumor pushing against the aerota in her chest.  One day up, one day down, with intermittent assistance, she still pushes herself through the daily grind  of everyday life.  What is a normal day for us, is now a challenge for Shawna as she battles this relentless disease.
