Journal entry by Sharon Watson

From Sharon's family

Sharon Rosalie Watson, age 67, went home to be with the Lord on August 26, 2019. For the past year and a half, Sharon lived with and fought cancer. Her passing was peaceful. Sharon graduated from Grand Rapids High School and from Bethel College in St. Paul. She went on to become a lawyer after graduating from William Mitchell College of Law. She practiced law, primarily private practice, until the age of 52, when she fell in love with a 2-year-old boy, Robb, who needed a mom. She adopted him out of foster care and she spent the rest of her life devoted to raising him.

Their lives were filled with joy and challenge so Sharon made a career change to home-based businesses in order to have a more flexible schedule. She sold toy cars, made and sold leather creations, did leather repair and created and sold wood home decor. She opened her home to her son's friends, mentored them and provided a supportive environment for them always trying to make them feel special.

Even though Sharon was seriously ill, she proudly watched Robb graduate from high school, get a job and become self-sufficient. Her greatest joy will be to see Robb come to Christ.

Sharon tackled home repair projects: carpentry, plumbing and electrical and she re-roofed two houses. She spent time in her shop but her enjoyment came from playing guitar and singing praise songs to her Savior.

For the past 10 years, Sharon and Robb lived in Florida near Ocala where she leaves her church family and many friends to celebrate her life and mourn her passing. Family members who have gone before her are her parents, Doug and Shirley Watson, and her siblings, Phillip and Christie. Her loving son, Robb Watson, survives her. She loved and was loved by her siblings: Marie Watson Ballard, Barb Watson Nicholson(Allen), Mark Watson(Joanne), Stan Watson(Laurie), Andy Watson(Judy) and Dawn Watson Splittstoesser(Ken). She has many relatives and friends who will miss her. Her sister, Dawn, devotedly cared for Sharon during her illness.

Cremation was handled by Crescent Tide Cremation. The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date for Sharon.
