Journal entry by Mary Thom —
It has been 73 days since our last post. And I am pleased to say that things have been slowly getting back to "normal." Sharon has "graduated" from all of her at-home therapy sessions and is getting stronger day by day. We were able to spend a few days at their house and we did a little shopping, went fishing, and went out for Mexican food. It was so great to be able to get out of the house! Sharon and LeRoy also came to our house for an overnight visit. This is the first time they had been to our house in almost 2 years with everything that has been going on. Mom and I went shopping, had burgers and beer for lunch, went out to dinner, and came home for a bonfire. I have to say that it was just wonderful!!
Sharon went in on August 30th for her follow-up appointment for her kidney cancer. Unfortunately, the tumor has grown so they are going to remove her kidney as soon as possible. They are currently looking into the possibility of a double surgery to remove her ovaries at the same time. We would love to see only one surgery!
I will post again once we have some finalized dates for her upcoming surgery. In the meantime, please pray that Sharon continues to grow stronger every day.
