Day 67
Mom continues to make progress, cant deny that. Her Trach is capped, she's begun a "minced" diet and is working on building up appetite to sustain nutrition, (if only we had THAT problem)! Feeding tube comes out when she consistently maintains a calorie count. However, as she recovers more of herself, we're facing some new challenges. Nothing extreme, but things like her motivation. She's very weak, so therapy is work & it doesnt come with immediate results. She's already developed a great ability for sentences to postpone therapy. 1 hour a day with therapy team & half is spent persuading her to try. BUT, it's a start.

Although 1 of her favorite phrases is "No, I'll do it tomorrow" She's often like a sweet child, working between present & imagination. A lot of times she's so clear about real things happening everyday, even smart things like the alphabet, and yet an hour later she talks about dad could go back to college, or she'll ride in my car when it's time to go fishing... BUT again, it's a start.

As always, we're grateful for the love & well wishes that continue to find us. There are so many of you out there and Mom knows she's got alot of hearts out there giving her good reason to continue.
